INSTALLING A MOTION DETECTOR FLOODLIGHT IS OUR TOP RECOMMENDATION

motion detector floodlight

By installing a Motion Detector Floodlight (for a COOL one - CHECK THIS OUT!), you make your home an undesirable target to all those stupid criminals out there. Not only the front of your home, but the back and sides of your home as well might need the services of this type of light. Any exterior light on your home can and should be converted into a motion detector light.

Burglars don't want to draw attention to themselves and get caught. Think about it, try and put yourself in Bobby Burglar's shoes (dumb yourself down by letting your mind go blank or by watching a politician speak), if you are sneaking up to someone's house and all of a sudden their yard starts lighting-up like a summer day - you're running the other way!

Regular floodlights are great for illuminating large areas outside but they don't turn on by themselves and they don't help much if "Bobby" is making house calls. Another benefit is that it helps you see better when you drive in at night. Besides purchasing online HERE , you can find motion detector floodlights at most hardware and large DIY (Do-It-Yourself) retail stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Menards ect.

To install you need:

Motion Detector Floodlight

Screwdriver

Circuit tester

Wire nuts

1. Turn off the power to your existing floodlight at the circuit-breaker box.

2. Remove the screws holding the existing fixture in place, and gently pull the fixture away from the junction box.

3. Remove the wire nuts, and check the wires with a circuit tester to be certain the power is off.

4. Disconnect the existing fixture from the house wiring.

5. Connect the wires for the new fixture, attaching black to black and white to white. Attach the ground wire to the junction box.

6. Press the wires into the junction box, and secure the fixture to the junction box with screws. Make sure the fixture faces the right direction before you tighten the screws.

7. At night you can adjust the sensitivity and the length of time the light stays on. You can also control the distance covered by the sensor by adjusting its position.
